The Mobil Gargoyle Arctic SHC 200 Series are fully synthetic lubricants specifically designed for use in refrigeration compressors and heat pumps. Application consideration: Although Mobil Gargoyle Arctic SHC 200 Series is compatible with mineral oil based products, blending will affect performance. Systems should therefore be thoroughly rinsed and cleaned when replacing a mineral product with a Mobil Gargoyle Arctic SHC 200 Series product. In the case of R22 refrigerants always refer to the refrigerant manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure that it is suitable for efficient separation of the oil and refrigerant.

Product Description Mobil Gargoyle Arctic SHC 226E
Mobil Gargoyle Arctic SHC™ 200 Series are fully synthetic superior performance lubricants specifically designed for use in refrigeration compressors and heat pumps. They are formulated with wax-free, synthesized hydrocarbon polyalphaolefins (PAO), which have excellent resistance to thermal ageing and oxidation. With their high natural resistance to shear, high viscosity index and excellent low temperature fluidity, they are capable of operating under severe operating conditions far beyond the capabilities of many conventional mineral oils. Their solubility and miscibility with coolants is low, resulting in higher film thickness with pressurised coolants. This can contribute to fewer leaks via shaft seals. Their stability and low volatility reduce the removal of light fractions from the lubricant as can occur with conventional mineral oils. Lubricants from the Gargoyle Arctic SHC 200 Series can help reduce frictional losses and improve machine efficiency. Gargoyle Arctic SHC 200 Series oils are recommended for the lubrication of refrigeration compressors operating at very high temperatures, and for systems with very low evaporation temperatures. They are suitable for compressor systems operating on refrigerants such as ammonia and carbon dioxide. Because they are very difficult to mix with carbon dioxide, they are a good choice for screw compressors that use carbon dioxide. They are compatible with most refrigerants with the exception of sulphur dioxide and have proved particularly successful in systems using ammonia as the refrigerant. Mobil Gargoyle Arctic SHC 200 Series are fully miscible with conventional mineral oils. Mixing with mineral oils can reduce the excellent performance characteristics of the Mobil synthetic product.
