Shell Diala S4 ZX-I is Shell’s premium insulating oil. It has been designed to meet the needs of the latest transformer generation. The product offers a longer oil life. It is sulfur free and therefore meets existing and future copper corrosion tests. Shell Diala S4 ZX-I is made from a sulfur-free base oil produced using the Shell GTL (Gas-to-liquids) technology.
We also know that it is used as Immersion Cooling Fluid for cooling servers as used in cloud computing, blockchain and crypto mining.
This base oil is characterized by a uniform molecular structure and a very good response of antioxidants. It is globally available and independent of different crude oil deposits due to its manufacturing process. Shell Diala S4 ZX-I is free of PCB, DBDS and Passivators.

Shell Diala S4 ZX-I is an inhibited insulating oil that performs exceptionally well in industry-standard oxidation tests and provides extended oil life. It is particularly suitable for use in high-load applications.
+ transformer protection
Shell Diala S4 ZX-I is made from a sulfur-free * base oil, which significantly reduces the risk of copper corrosion, even without the addition of passivators or other additives.
All relevant copper corrosion tests are met: DIN 51353 (silver strip test), ASTM D1275 and the new tests IEC 62535 and ASTM D1275B. More reliability due to a higher flash point. * Sulfur content is below 1 ppm (detection limit of · ASTM D5185).
Moreover, we know that Shell Diala S4 ZX I is also used as Immersion Cooling Fluid for cooling servers as used in crypto mining Cloud computing and blockchain technology.
+ System Efficiency
The very good flowability at low temperatures of Shell Diala S4 ZX-I enables safe heat transfer in transformers, even at low starting temperatures.
Shell Diala S4 ZX-I is manufactured and dried by a special process, which gives it a low water content and a high breakdown voltage on delivery. This allows the use of the oil without additional “drying” in many applications.

Is Shell Diala S2 ZX-I the same as Shell Diala S4 ZX-I?
Shell Diala S4 ZX-I is the direct successor of Shell Diala S2 ZX-I. The performance of Shell Diala S4 ZX-I is better because it is now a GTL base oil with many advantages of which the most important is a much longer life.
Is this oil suitable for immersion cooling in my server, data center, or blockchain technology?
