Application Castrol Perfecto HTS 16

Perfecto HTS 16 is suitable for heat transfer systems without pressure operating in liquid phase with bulk temperatures up to 350°C, where the film temperature may not exceed 370°C. In order to extend the economic life of the liquid, the temperature of the expansion vessel must be kept below 50°C. The temperature of the expansion vessel must be kept at a maximum of 370°C. At higher temperatures it is advisable to use a nitrogen blanket. Detailed information can be found in the brochure which contains data on specific heat and thermal conductivity, among other things.

Perfecto HTS 16 is a special synthetic heat transport vehicle based on a synthetically manufactured hydrocarbon of the Diaryl Alkyl type. This non-aggressive, almost odourless liquid has the following properties:

Desciption Castrol Perfecto HTS 16

PerfectoTM HTS 16 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid based on Diaryl Alkyl, for high bulk temperatures. Its thermal stability is higher than that of mineral oil and can therefore be used at higher temperatures up to 350°C. Perfecto HTS 16 offers the advantage of low vapour pressure, a high heat capacity and good thermal conductivity.

Guidelines for use

Before filling a system, it must be rinsed with Perfecto HTS 16. Do not use any water. Before commissioning, it must undergo a pressure test as a check for paint covers. When warming up the system, careful ventilation is required to remove all air and moisture from the system.

It is advisable to store this product in a shelter. However, if it is necessary to store the drums outside, they should be placed horizontally, with the bundles below the liquid level, in order to prevent the entry of water and the erasure of inscriptions. Also, the products should not be stored at temperatures above 60°C, exposed to strong sunshine or temperatures below freezing in order to prevent a deterioration in quality.
